The Catalan Socialist Party ( PSC ) voted on Wednesday for a resolution banning the use of Spanish during breaks and extracurricular activities in schools in the region, all under the pretext of  «extending the use of the Catalan language in the field of extracurricular activities and grassroots sport and leisure . «

The PSC also intends to challenge a court ruling stipulating that at least 25% of the Spanish language must be used in Catalan schools, while the Constitutional Court issues a final ruling on the matter, The Objective reported  .

The government of the socialist Salvador Illa will also seek to implement a plan to promote the «knowledge and use of Catalan» within the region’s health system, in the midst of the investiture pact that the PSC has signed with ERC.

The agreement stipulates that various social networks, video game platforms and news media will also be the scene of measures to strengthen the use of Catalan, through an investment of  around 200 million euros.
